Food crisis

British NGO Oxfam has warned that By 2030 food demand will increase by 70% and their price will double their current prices if we do not stop manufacturing of wine and ethanol from cereals. One cannot deny this fact in Indian context because in last seven years food prices have increased at a very high rate. With wine and ethanol, our future market is also responsible for hike in food prices.

According to the Indian economists, around Rs.35000crores of future trading takes place every month in India. Only Maharashtra manufacture 75000 to1.5 lac liters of wine daily from cereals whereas in Maharashtra more than 2.5 lac farmers have committed suicide due to poverty, hunger and loan.
Increase in non-vegetarian population
is also a big factor responsible for food crisis.According to scholars,it takes700 calories of cereals in making 100 calorie meat.Similarly a huge amount of cereals is used in preparing goats and hens. If these cereals are taken directly than it can be used far more people for satisfying their hunger.
An average man in China eats 50k.g. of meats every year, whereas in 90's the consumption was only20k.g.
Due to some of these reason 15% in China and 20% in India died due to starvation. In spite of these facts no serious awareness program are launching but govt. is making policies to increase these activities.
